Help decide what earns its place.

CryoIndex manages a single dewar, which is what most academic labs run. Support for several — each with its own layout, labelling and fill schedule — is built, and it is not in the release. It is held back because a core facility, a cell bank or a commercial centre has different needs from a lab with one tank, and guessing at them is how software gets worse. If your site runs more than one, describe how you would want them addressed and reported on.

Dated PDF and CSV records of what was in storage, what moved, and what is still outstanding, drawn from what the app recorded at the time. Also built, also held back. The question is not whether reports can be produced but what a reviewer at your institution actually asks to see — that varies more between sites than the underlying records do.

A separate workflow for samples kept in mechanical freezers: freezer, rack or tower, shelf or rack position, box, and vial position. If laboratories need it, this could also include temporary checkout, return, and time-out-of-storage records for samples that are used and refrozen.

A future phone viewer could let authorized lab members search and view the current inventory away from the lab’s working device. The central design question is how to deliver an up-to-date, lab-approved view without creating competing writable copies or placing uncontrolled research data on personal phones.

CryoIndex already keeps automatic safety copies on the working Android tablet or Windows PC. A future option could also write verified copies automatically to a lab-selected external destination when it is available—without assuming that a shared lab device can or should use a student’s personal university credentials.

Support for labs already using RFID-enabled vials or labels. Reader type, tag format, range, and cold-storage workflow matter more than adding a generic RFID button.

Export label-ready data or templates for software a lab already uses. Direct printing could follow if laboratories identify dependable cryogenic labels and printers that can be tested and supported.

Interest helps us understand demand. Labs that may also be willing to test a prerelease build across real iPad window sizes can help shape a version that works reliably.
