Backup and replacement devices
Where should backups be saved?
Keep a current backup somewhere that survives the working device being lost, damaged or reset.
- Open Settings → Data → Back up or restore, then choose Save a copy.
- Choose a USB drive, removable card, institution-approved shared drive or another destination outside the Android tablet or Windows PC.
- Confirm that the file appears at the destination and is not only stored in a local Downloads folder.
- Repeat on the schedule shown by the dashboard reminder.
